You will find lot's of information under the following headings:

Everyone participates in the packing & clean up before the final Closing Circle & departure.

the Centre has been lovingly created to support the needs & desires of you, our Sacred Journeys Community. We invite each of you to contribute what you can towards making it your home by sharing suggestions, resources & manpower to maintain & sustain it. In this way the Centre continues to prosper & fulfil its intent of 'being a beacon of hope & light for all who seek to do their Great Work.

  • PLEASE NOTE: No laptops, tablets or technical distractions of any kind are welcome in the Centre.
No charging of any devices is allowed & make sure that your cell phone is switched off for the duration of the time you are with us.
Should you need to make a call or check in with your phone at any time during your journey, please move away from all communal spaces to the parking area to complete this.
If you are in training with us, you are welcome to leave our number 082 571 3306 with anyone who may need to contact you urgently.

  • We all agree to take the following approach when we come together:
    1. If you see a job - it's your job!
    2. Walk in Beauty
Every person shares responsibility for taking care of & keeping the spaces tidy, organised & clean.
This includes washing & packing away dishes, keeping the kitchen clean, general sweeping, organizing & tidying of the communal areas, taking care of medicine & packing away books, crafts, chairs & cushions etc.

  • Every person is mindful & considerate when using precious resources, including water & electricity.
Please be mindful of turning lights off, your shower time & caring for the facilities. We run on septic tanks so please do not dispose of foreign objects in the toilets.

  • We love our planet so make use of our recycling system.
Respect the instructions for disposal of rubbish noted on the bins supplied, take the time to rinse before throwing away.
Empty out the compost at the end of your stay.

  • Have consideration for everyone else in the space.
Respect, Kindness, Camaraderie, Confidentiality – remember you, the space and everyone in it is sacred.

  • SMOKING OR VAPING IS NOT PERMITTED IN THE BUILDING!
    T
here are designated areas – please use the sand buckets provided and make sure all cigarette butts are thrown in the outside bins at the end of the weekend & ash is cleared.

  • Heart Gift Exchanges: 1 for the Sweat Lodge Dance Chief + 1 for Fire CrewYou can place your Heart Gifts in the baskets provided when you arrive. See below for more details.

  • Food, Snacks & Refreshments: This is arranged by the participants themselves in the whatsapp group in the weeks preceding each gathering. Check how many people there are, introduce yourself and connect.

We have found it most efficient to plan meals together as a group, where each person contributes a meal to feed 10-12 people (2 x Breakfasts, 2 x Lunches, 2 x Dinners) and takes care of preparation, presentation and clean-up.
This is usually arranged in the Whatsapp Group.
Sharing well prepared food is an act of nourishment and celebration, so keep in mind the kind of food that might best reinforce that process. Food that has been created with love, prepared by people who care, using quality ingredients, feeds us on all levels; bringing this kind of food is a shared Heart Gift."
EVERYONE IS REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE IN WASHING, PACKING & CLEANING OF THE KITCHEN & CENTRE AT ALL TIMES
The communal kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils, fridge, microwave, gas oven & stove.
Please bring along any personal preferences (beverages, snacks & milk) to add to the collection and make the kitchen more user friendly & supportive - it is the heart space that nurtures and feeds us all.

Ideas for breakfast:
Fruit salad, yoghurt, muesli, toast, muffins, pancakes (we have noticed that on Sundays we seem to need more protein like scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages)

Ideas for lunch:
Crackers, artisan breads, cheese, fresh cut veggies, tuna/chicken mayo and salads (quinoa, couscous, green, greek - oh so many 'living food' ideas)

Ideas for dinner:
Quiche, soup, lasagne, homemade pie, babotie, veggie bakes etc

Please note: on Saturday nights we Sweat, so we suggest a bake or soup of some kind that can be warmed while we are in Ceremony.
This meal also has to cater for an additional 2/3 Fire Crew.

Ideas for Snacks & Refreshments: Nuts, dried/fresh fruit, dips, dark chocolate, veggie crisps, iced tea, coffee, herbal tea, cordials, kombucha, sparkling water etc Bring along your personal preferences.

READ MORE ABOUT HEART GIFTS HERE

We are often asked what to suggest as Heart Gifts so here's what the SJ Crew put together:

Heart Gifts could include good quality lighters, gas refills, small flashlights, gardening gloves, tealight candles, pipe tobacco, essential oils (lavender, rosemary & eucalyptus), trinkets that can be turned into medicine, medicine items, homemade treats & consumables (honey/dark chocolate/coconut oil/olive oil), garden goodies (plants, pots, statues, faeries etc) and monetary donations are also welcome.

Worldweaver: dark chocolate, unscented coconut oil, espresso coffee beans & donations are welcome.

Weaving Willow: Her luminosity loves to be treated, so skills sessions of all kinds; energy, massage, etc. are welcome, she loves prosecco & donations are also welcome!

They don't eat refined food, milk chocolates or sugar. Their heart, home & gardens sing with flowers, plants, herbs, pottery, faeries & pots. You are welcome to ask if they are saving towards something special if you prefer to heart gift hard cash.

Please do not feel limited by this list and allow your heart to be your guide!

Fire Crew gives about 5 hours of their time to be of service to those who participate in the Ceremony.

You are invited to volunteer as Fire Crew anytime and share in this experience, so please let us know if you would like to be of service.
You will be required to be here by 4pm and we usually come to completion around 9pm after sharing a meal together.

See above for Heart Gift suggestions for Fire Crew.

For all attendance, logistical or financial queries, please contact Sacred Journeys directly on 082 571 3306.
Sacred Journeys WhatsApp Community

In this community we have a selection of groups to support the many aspects of the work we share.
Enrolled Students will be added to RW NOTICEBOARD Group, this is an admin post only group for announcements from Sacred Journeys.

Please make sure you do not archive this group so you can check in with messages.
You will also be added to the LODGE your are currently training in. This is a platform for shared discussion and organisation for your weekends.

To qualify for Student Rates, you need to be an enrolled student.
This requires booking a video-call to establish whether we are a good fit for one another.
Your student enrolment is initiated with a non refundable Enrolment Fee.

NOTE: Student enrolments remain active, provided you attend at least one 2-night gathering within a calendar year.

Return Student Rates include anyone who wants to repeat teachings or has missed previous teachings and is catching up.
The first time we receive new information, we can only take in around 20% of what is shared, this makes it invaluable to receive teachings several times to fully integrate them.

No gathering is ever the same - even if the wheels are, so returning to receive the wheels is extremely valuable.
